POI is not, and was never intended, to be a love story. It’s more about the EFFECT love has on people, places and things.
Reese’s love for his country to join the army.
Reese’s love for Jessica that he thought to save her pain by leaving her.
Reese’s love for Jessica when he found out she was dead & figured out how she died.
Carter’s love for her country to join the army.
Carter’s love for PEOPLE, no matter what nationality, made her such a great interrogator.
Carter’s love for her son, to not be exposed to the damaged and dangerous man who was his father….and sent him away.
Carter’s last action, put herself in front of Reese to protect him……because of the love & respect she had for him.
Finch’s love for Grace that he ran away from her to protect her.
Finch’s love of his friend Nathan that his grief and desire to continue Ingram’s work.
Fusco’s love of the man he WAS and who he wants to become again.
Fusco’s love for his son which we will continue to see played out, since Simmons threatened him.
Fusco’s love for his partner and his respect for her.
Cole’s unacknowledged love for Shaw til it was too late.
Shaw’s love, that she is beginning to FEEL for Team Machine……keeps her working with them and not alone.
Root’s love of the machine……..to do the things she has done, killing people, and feel nothing (sound familiar?) to ‘save it’
When all is said and done……..it’s LOVE that makes POI great.
